In the series "Generic Landscapes",I take as a starting point my thousands of own photographs of nature, cities and weather. After sorting them on subject matters and visual similarity, the photos are fed into an ai-algorithm to investigate the statistical common denominators of the photos: Colours, angles, textures, composition. The algorithm generates large series of new images based on these common visual elements. The resulting images are then curated and put together into video loops, where the landscape develops and re-invents itself before our eyes, creating a meditative look into a synthetic, generic landscape that mimics the essence of the artist's aesthetics in composing the original photos, the essence of just this landscape, the essence of just this natural phenomena.
