Today, it is only three weeks until I start my artistic residency in Berlin. I am so excited to begin working with the archive at the Magnus Hirschfeld Society and see what will emerge from my artistic exploration! Right now, I am imagining that I may uncover stories and individuals that I can breathe new life into and bring them alive in my artworks. However, I don’t want to imagine too much before I start my work. The material and the process will shape the outcome, and that is part of what’s interesting and exciting! I have been reading, planning, and thinking for months, and now I feel like a swimmer standing on the shore, taking a deep breath, so ready to dive in!
