BIOGRAPHY
I was born in the late 60’s as the son of a country dean, and raised in the beautiful Norwegian countryside. I think this peaceful childhood has influenced my art with a longing for harmony and a serene beauty. In addition to my work as a contemporary artist, I write and illustrate children’s picture books, designs glassware and book covers.
Artist’s statement
For me, art has it's most important function in saying what words cannot reach. Often words pinpoint to much, more than reality itself. Art - in pictures, music, drama etc - excitingly hints about all the areas in between.
Biography
What inspires me on the whole is the quest for beauty and the looking for the continuing stories behind the everydays. The last years I have moved more and more into using computers as a tool in my work. I find it a useful and very exciting tool, that allows me to tweak, experiment and combine in inspiring ways. Every now and then, of course, I get the longing for real paint and digs out my brushes again!
You can keep up with my latest work by following my blog. Here I post info about exhibitions, upcoming books, post new artworks and some sketches of ideas to art as well.
